The New "Doo"

Inspired by my cousin's cute short "doo" I did it. I chopped it all off ( there was not much there anyway). It has only been a couple days, but I love it. Why fight those crazy cowlicks, anymore. Bed head, or super trendy? If you can't tell neither will I.

OK now, mom I'm ready to go

This morning I laid some clothes out for Wes (t-shirt and jeans) He came upstairs a few minutes later, wearing only his swimsuit. I told him that it was too cold and that we would be leaving in a few minutes. He said "Oh, I will go change" He came back having added his coat (no shirt) and his rain boots. I laughed and told him that he could wear that if he really wanted but that he would have to wear a shirt. He agreed that was best and he went off to change. He came back for the third time with a different swimsuit, fireman costume, and the camo boots. He announced "OK mom, now I'm ready to go" So we went.

Thank You Grandma

Thanks for the yummy treats, I loved them (as you can tell). I had the cupcake last night, and then Mom let me have the cookie for breakfast (she figured thats what you would have done). I love you lots.

Halloween is finally here

We had a great Halloween. After having celebrated all week with church and preschool parties, we decided to go trick-or-treating with some of our friends. We had a light dinner (had to leave room for candy) filled with "spooky" food, and then off to ring door bells. We had great weather and a great neighborhood so it was a lot of fun. John slept through it all while Wes raced up and down driveways filling his pumpkin bucket. The boys wanted to go home early, but Nate convinced them to stick it out until their buckets were full. We had a fun night and now we all have treat to enjoy for awhile (Wes is not to keen on the idea of sharing with me however) Wes did not want me to take any pictures of him, so the ones I did get were lucky shots.

pumpkins, pumpkins, and more pumpkins

To get into the Halloween spirit, we went to the pumpkin patch followed by a family carving night. The patch was great, carving not so great. Wes loved picking his pumpkins out at the patch, but hated picking the "guts" out of the pumpkin. He eventually put his hand in and pulled some out, but only after a lot of coaching from us. We also started carving late, and John was really crabby, so our evening ended leaving "gutless" pumpkins with no faces. I did carve faces on a couple of our pumpkins the next day while Wes and Quinn painted the others.

painting pumpkins, is that what we are doing?

Last week I had the great idea that I would carve pumpkins with Wes and Quinn. Silly me, they actually wanted to use real knives to help me. Three year old and knives not a good combo, so I let them paint the pumpkins. About 5 minutes after I had that great idea, both pumpkins and boys were completely covered in green paint. What a mess, and what a great photo opportunity.
